How we stay free
Every tool on Streetwise is free, with no sign-up. Running them costs time and money, so here is exactly how we pay for it, and what has not started yet.
How we earn, and where things stand
| Source | Status | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Google ads (AdSense) | May appear | Google can show ads on our pages and chooses which ones. They are not our recommendations, and they never change a result. Google may set cookies, see our privacy page. |
| Direct display advertising | Available | Advertisers can book ad spots on our pages. Every ad is labelled and kept apart from results. |
| Sponsored stories | Available | Clearly labelled as sponsored. They never appear as editorial articles and never lead the front page. |
| Partner links (we are paid if you sign up or buy) | None live yet | If we add them, each one will carry a "Partner link" label next to the tool title, not just near the link. |
| Email briefing sponsorship | Not started | The weekly briefing is not live yet. Any sponsor will be labelled. |
| Reader support | See Support | Optional. It never unlocks features or changes a result. See Support us. |
We update this table when something changes. Last updated 3 October 2026.
What a partner link will look like
Partner link We may be paid if you sign up. It costs you nothing extra.
Rules we follow
- Results are never for sale. Our numbers come from official sources such as Inland Revenue, Employment New Zealand, Tenancy Services and Stats NZ. Nobody can pay to change a result.
- Guidance first, offers second. A tool finishes its job before any offer appears, and offers sit below the result.
- No offers on rights tools. Tenancy, sick leave, holiday pay and similar tools carry no partner links.
- Only relevant products. We only link to a product that suits what you were just working out.
- The election guide is neutral. It never carries partner links or ads for any party, candidate or campaign.
- Not financial advice. We are not financial advisers. Our tools give general information, not personal advice, and we do not tell you which product to buy.
- Open about mistakes. If we get something wrong we correct it openly. See standards and corrections.
